FORT MYERS, FL. – August 25, 2015 – The Gulf Coast Humane Society (GCHS) is celebrating Dogust, the universal birthday for shelter pets, at their monthly Yappy Hour.  All dogs and their handlers are invited to join in on the fun on August 29, from 6 - 8 p.m. at Cape Harbour, located at 5785 Cape Harbour Dr.  in Cape Coral.

GCHS is asking for donations of medium and large Kong toys for the shelter dogs as part of the Dogust birthday celebration drive to reach a goal of 300 Kong toys.  Kong toys are versatile as a behavioral and training aid. Anyone that brings a Kong toy will be eligible for a raffle prize drawing.  GCHS will have adoptable dogs available to meet potential new families.   T-shirts will be available for sale and attendees can meet and visit with GCHS adoptable dogs looking for their forever home.

Bring out your furry friend for the Dogust birthday celebration and enjoy the evening as a selection of vendors will be set up to promote their businesses.   Fathoms Restaurant and Bar, with The French Press Café will provide beer, wine, and a DJ for entertainment during the event.  Proceeds from beverage and t-shirt sales will benefit GCHS.
