CAPE CORAL, Fla. (August 27, 2015) – As the dog days of summer drag on in Southwest Florida, Fathoms Restaurant & Bar and The French Press are offering some cool ways to spend family time during the busy back-to-school season. Kids under 12 eat free at Fathoms starting at 5 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays. And what cooler way to end the school week than with free gelato? On Fridays throughout September from 5 – 10 p.m., buy any size cup of one of The French Press’ 24 flavors of homemade gelato, and receive a free sugar cone.
Fathoms and The French Press are closed on Mondays until the end of September, so they’ve stacked the rest of the week full of great events and specials offering something for everyone:
Die-hard foodies should reserve their spot now for a Chef’s Table dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 17. Up to 16 lucky diners will enjoy an intimate six-course dinner prepared by the French chefs of Fathoms. Cost is $85 per person, including exquisite wine pairings. Gather your girlfriends for Ladies Night on Thursday September 24, with a dinner of three courses each paired with a very special wine, all for just $25. Another special treat is an Italian-themed Full Moon Party on Friday, September 25, with Guest Chef Dario Zuljani of Cape Coral’s Ariani restaurant sharing his creative interpretation of the northern Italian specialties he grew up on. Attendees will be charmed by the Master Chef’s larger-than-life personality, while enjoying music and drink specials from 6 to 10 p.m.
On Saturday, September 26, bring your four-legged friend to Yappy Hour from 6 to 8 to benefit Gulf Coast Humane Society.
The French Press hosts a delectable breakfast from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. every Saturday. Rico Taco Thursdays mean diners enjoy authentic Mexican tacos and a margarita for jut $9.99 all day. Happy hour happens every Tuesday through Friday from 2 – 6 p.m., with live music following from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday night at Fathoms means half-price pizza, with open mic happening at The French Press. DJ Juan Gomez churns out the hits every Saturday, and Sunday means bloody Mary specials from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., with live music from 4 – 7.
Finally, please note Fathoms will be closed from Saturday through Monday, September 19-21 for some retouches to the restaurant. The French Press will close early at 6 p.m. on those days.
